DFRobot ESP32-S3 AI Camera Module is a developer-friendly vision and voice platform built for smart IoT projects. It combines an ESP32-S3R8, a 2MP OV3660 wide-angle camera with 160° field of view, onboard microphone support, speaker output, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and infrared night vision in a compact 42 × 42mm module.
This board is designed for applications that need local image processing as well as cloud-connected intelligence. It supports edge image recognition workflows based on Edge Impulse, online image recognition with tools such as OpenCV and YOLO, and voice or image interaction using online large models including ChatGPT.
With infrared illumination for low-light operation, an SD card slot for storage expansion, USB Type-C for power and code upload, and exposed UART-style Gravity pins, it is well suited for rapid prototyping of smart cameras, electronic peepholes, AI robot toys, license plate recognition projects, and wearable concepts such as smart glasses.

Power note: supply the module by USB Type-C at 5V DC or via VIN at 3.7-15V DC. The board operates at 3.3V internally.
The module operates at 3.3V, supports 5V DC through its USB Type-C port, and also accepts 3.7V to 15V DC on VIN. This gives you flexible power options for embedded and standalone builds.
Yes. It uses a wide-angle infrared camera with 940nm infrared sensitivity and onboard night vision LEDs, so it is designed for use in darkness as well as daytime conditions.
It is built around the OV3660 camera sensor with 2 megapixels and a 160° field of view. The wide-angle lens makes it suitable for applications like monitoring, smart vision, and robotics.
It supports edge image recognition locally on the module, based on EdgeImpulse, and also supports online image recognition workflows such as OpenCV, YOLO, and ChatGPT-based voice or image interaction. This means it can be used for both on-device AI tasks and connected AI applications.
The module supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for remote access and wireless integration. The certification documents list operation in the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and BLE bands.
It includes a USB Type-C port for power and code uploading, an SD card slot, a built-in microphone, an MX1.25-2P speaker interface with MAX98357 I2S amplifier, and exposed Gravity UART-style pins on IO44/TX and IO43/RX. It also provides an onboard LED on IO3 and infrared illumination control on IO47.
