Overview
The Cytron MDDS60 SmartDriveDuo-60 is a high-current dual-channel driver for brushed DC motors, designed for 7V to 45V DC systems. It can drive two DC brush motors independently or in mixed mode, making it a strong fit for differential-drive robots, combat robots, mobile platforms, and other heavy-duty motion projects.
Each channel supports up to 60A continuous current at room temperature, with 100A peak for 1 second. The board supports multiple control methods including RC servo signal, analog input, PWM, simplified UART, and packetized UART, so it can be integrated with RC receivers, joysticks, Arduino, PIC, and other microcontroller-based systems.
MDDS60 includes practical smart features for real-world use such as regenerative braking, thermal-based current limiting, battery low voltage monitoring, 16kHz quiet switching, on-board cooling fans, manual test buttons, status LEDs, and a built-in switching regulator. Please note that this driver is for brushed DC motors only and does not include reverse polarity protection on the motor power input.
