Overview

Control high-current DC motors with confidence using the BTS7960 43A H-Bridge Motor Driver Module. Built around Infineon’s BTS7960 half-bridge driver chips, this module is designed for demanding motor control applications that need reliable bidirectional driving, PWM speed control, and strong current handling for robotics, automation, and DIY electric drive projects.

The module supports forward and reverse motor control, making it ideal for applications such as robot cars, conveyor systems, actuators, and high-power DC motor prototypes. It accepts standard logic signals from popular microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and STM32, allowing easy integration into embedded systems. Dedicated RPWM and LPWM inputs simplify speed and direction control, while R_EN and L_EN pins provide easy driver enable functionality.

Designed for high-load use, the BTS7960 module can handle motors that require significantly more current than typical L298N or L293D drivers. It also includes current sense/status outputs and onboard heat dissipation support, making it a practical choice for users building more robust motion-control systems. Whether you're upgrading a robotics project or developing an industrial motor control prototype, this driver offers a dependable and easy-to-use solution.

  • Supports bidirectional control of high-power DC motors
  • PWM-based speed control for smooth motor operation
  • Compatible with common microcontrollers and development boards
  • Suitable for robotics, automation, and motorized DIY projects
  • Higher current capability than entry-level motor driver modules

Pinout

Pin Description
B+ Motor power supply positive input. Connect to the positive terminal of the external motor power source.
B- Motor power supply ground. Connect to the negative terminal of the external motor power source.
M+ Motor output terminal. Connect to one terminal of the DC motor.
M- Motor output terminal. Connect to the other terminal of the DC motor.
VCC Logic power input, typically 5V from the microcontroller.
GND Common ground for the logic side. Must be connected to the microcontroller ground.
RPWM PWM input for one direction of motor rotation. Apply PWM signal here to drive the motor in one direction.
LPWM PWM input for the opposite direction of motor rotation. Apply PWM signal here to reverse the motor direction.
R_EN Enable pin for the RPWM side. Set HIGH to enable that half of the driver.
L_EN Enable pin for the LPWM side. Set HIGH to enable that half of the driver.
R_IS Current sense / status output for one half-bridge. Often unused in basic projects.
L_IS Current sense / status output for the other half-bridge. Often unused in basic projects.
