Overview

Bambu Lab X2D is a dual-nozzle FDM 3D printer built for makers, engineers, and professional users who want broader material flexibility in a single machine. It combines a main nozzle and an auxiliary nozzle, with different filament capabilities depending on the material and printing task.

The main nozzle handles key performance features such as Flow Dynamics Calibration, and the main extruder uses a PMSM servo motor for precise filament control. The auxiliary nozzle expands workflow options, but Bambu Lab notes that print quality from the auxiliary nozzle is slightly lower than the main nozzle in actual testing.

For the best results, Bambu Lab recommends using official filaments on the auxiliary nozzle, especially official PLA for model printing. Third-party filaments may not deliver optimal print quality on the auxiliary nozzle, and full nozzle-by-nozzle material compatibility should be checked in the official spec sheet.
