Adafruit TMAG5273 (A1) 3D Hall Effect Magnetometer Breakout is a low-power magnetic sensing board built around TI's TMAG5273 linear 3-axis Hall-effect sensor. It measures magnetic field changes across the X, Y and Z axes, making it well suited for motion, rotation and position sensing projects.
Adafruit TMAG5273 (A1) 3D Hall Effect Magnetometer Breakout is a low-power magnetic sensing board built around TI's TMAG5273 linear 3-axis Hall-effect sensor. It measures magnetic field changes across the X, Y and Z axes, making it well suited for motion, rotation and position sensing projects.
The onboard sensor includes a 12-bit ADC for digital readout over I2C, a built-in temperature sensor for basic thermal monitoring, and an integrated CORDIC angle engine that can provide full 360° angular position information using two selected magnetic axes.
This A1 variant supports selectable ±40mT or ±80mT range. It is designed for nearby magnets such as ferrite or rare-earth types, and is commonly used in magnetic rotary encoders, contactless knobs and joystick-style interfaces. It is not intended for measuring the Earth's magnetic field like a compass.
For easier integration, the breakout includes level-shifted I2C support for both 3.3V and 5V logic systems, plus SparkFun qwiic compatible STEMMA QT connectors for quick solderless wiring with compatible development boards.
