Overview
This Adafruit W25Q16 QSPI Flash Breakout is built around the Winbond W25Q16JVSSIQ, a 16 Mbit (2 MB) external QSPI flash memory commonly used for firmware, assets, and data storage in modern microcontroller designs. It breaks out the 8-SOIC QSPI flash into a 0.3″ DIP form factor, making it easy to prototype and socket high-speed quad-SPI flash with MCUs like RP2040, ESP32, and STM32.
The W25Q16JVSSIQ supports single, dual, and quad SPI modes at up to 133 MHz, operates at 3.3 V logic, and provides fast read performance for execute-in-place (XIP) applications. Ideal for testing flash sizes, firmware storage, and adding external non-volatile memory without designing a custom PCB.
