Overview
MAX31850K 1-Wire Thermocouple Amplifier Breakout makes it easy to read high-temperature measurements from a K-type thermocouple only using a single 1-Wire data bus. It handles cold-junction compensation and thermocouple-to-digital conversion on-board, so your microcontroller can read temperature data without needing complex analogue front-end design.
This breakout is ideal when you want to connect one or many thermocouples to a single microcontroller pin with 1-Wire support. The MAX31850K output format is similar to the popular DS18B20 family, but it is not drop-in compatible without code changes because it uses a different 1-Wire family type.
The board arrives assembled and tested with a 3.3V regulator, bypass capacitors, a pre-soldered 2-pin thermocouple terminal block, pull-up resistor, and header pins. It supports both parasitic power and external power operation. Important: the data line is 3V only and must be level shifted when used with 5V microcontrollers.
